You’ve no doubt heard all the gossip about Mel Gibson, and if you watch Nancy Grace, Jane Velez-Mitchell or Joy Behar, then you might actually think he’s been sentenced and prosecuted. Well, he hasn’t! Fact of the matter is many people in the media tend to express their opinions, and then label them as facts.
They go on and on, they rant and are like “Oh yea! Mel smacked around his ex-girlfriend, knocked a tooth out of her head! Why isn’t this maniac in jail?!? He’s even threatened to kill her!” then they have the nerve to be all like “Gee! I wonder why Mels camp hasn’t contacted us?!” Good question! Let’s pause and think here for a moment. Hmm. Oh, I know! Maybe it’s because you already have him prosecuted in your head! Not only that, you have also started gathering the lynch mob.
So, everyone else has stated their opinions on the matter, so I figure I might as well toss in my two cents. Now, please keep in mind, everything being said in this post, from beginning to end is MY opinion. My opinion might even change at a later date, but as of this writing, this is how I feel and think.
First, I want to clearly state IF Mel did smack Oksana Grigorieva around, then that’s clearly beyond fucked up. However, that being said, from my understanding the smack took place MONTHS ago. Why is she just now letting it become public knowledge? That’s what I want to know. If I was a woman and someone I was with smacked me around? I would have their ass reported faster than greased lightning! You know, unless I wanted to blackmail the person.
Anyway, in case you haven’t heard, there is a series of audio tapes that are supposedly of Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva arguing. The tapes are being released little by little by some place I have never heard of called Radaronline. No doubt you have probably heard some of these explosions. Most likely made your own conclusions, unless of course you are one of those people who are incapable of making up their own minds, and instead let the media make up your mind for you.
Now, here’s something I want to know. Where did these supposed recordings come from? Did Oksana Grigorieva record them? If so, is that even legal? I could be wrong of course, but I thought you had to notify someone that you were recording them, otherwise the recordings couldn’t be used as evidence against the person? If all that’s the case, then the only point of making the recordings is to try to destroy his career.
Anyway, after listening to the recordings, I noticed something. She was provoking him, and baiting him. Yes, he was blowing up and ranting and raving, however she was also pushing all his buttons. It was as if he was a wildebeest and she was standing in front of him with a pointy stick and poking at him. She’s going on about every other sentence “You’re insane” or “You need medication” and yea, that’s going to piss someone off even more! It’s certainly not going to defuse the situation.
People mention how throughout the tapes How she remains calm, despite being yelled at. Yea, of course she is! Especially if she’s recording the call and plans to release it to the public in an attempt to ruin his career. If she stays calm, he looks Really bad, she looks really good and appears more innocent. Hell, it’s easy as hell to stay calm, especially when you know a conversation is being recorded! To top it off, many times, when someone is pissed and they get talked to, the way that she is talking to him? They do tend to get more pissed off than they were. It goes right back around to the whole button pressing thing.
Now, in regards to the whole bit about him threatening to kill her, and all that garbage? Well, the man in the recording does make that suggestion. Keep in mind however that many people in a pissed off state have threatened to kill someone. I know several people who have said in the middle of a fight “I am so going to kill you!” Does that make them a psychotic mass murderer? I don’t think so! A lot of things get said in the heat of an argument. Tempers flare, and people say things they didn’t mean and end up regretting.
So, bottom line, If that man in the recording is Mel Gibson, Do I think he was out of line? I think to a degree he was. I think his temper flared and he let it get the better of him, however it’s not all his fault. I think Oksana Grigorieva should also be shouldering a lot of the blame. Instead people label her strictly as a victim. They don’t acknowledge that she was pushing all his buttons and fanning his flames. They don’t acknowledge that she wanted a boatload of money, and then wanted to keep him from his child. Honestly, if I had a child and the mother didn’t want me to see the kid? I would be pissed as hell too.
I think Oksana Grigorieva is a gold digger, a user, a manipulator and possibly even a blackmailer.
This post has nothing to do with Mels supposed racist comments. Is he racist? Well, probably. However that has nothing to do with him being “Insane” or whatever.
